UK NARIC is the National Agency responsible for providing information and advice about vocational, academic and professional skills and qualifications from all over the world. They are also involved in research, consultancy and training.
The services that they provide to individuals, universities, colleges, careers organisations, government departments, professional bodies and commercial organisations facilitate the understanding of skills and qualifications to help both the academic and commercial worlds. They achieve this through four channels:
- By providing equivalency and benchmarking services to individuals they help them work and study anywhere in the world
- By providing easy to use web-based databases and training they help organisations improve their understanding of overseas qualifications and skills and also improve their own systems and procedures when dealing with international applications
- They provide bespoke research and consultancy services that help organisations understand specific areas such as the recognition, benchmarking and equivalency of skills and qualifications
- Finally, they provide expert advice on establishing skills and qualifications frameworks
In short they provide clarity about skills and qualifications in order to release the potential of individuals and organisations alike.
Enabling individuals to work and study anywhere they wish helps share knowledge, aids economic growth, encourage cultural awareness, helps individuals realise their dreams and organisations to fulfill their objectives. At a time when the global economy is showing signs of dramatic change their vision is relevant, valid and pertinent.
