Voluntary / gap year organisations
Students and workers who choose to spend their gap year in Europe or head overseas to complete voluntary work can use the Europass documents to demonstrate the skills they have gained here in the UK before they leave.
The Europass documents are also the ideal place to record the experiences and knowledge gained by people while they're working or studying away from the UK.
By using the Europass documents voluntary and gap year organisations can add significant value to the experiences of the individuals that takes part in these activities. By clearly demonstrating that taking a gap year or getting involved with voluntary work will enable the individual to increase their skills and competencies organisations will attract new students and workers. Europass will help these individuals record their experiences and the skills they have gained.
Voluntary and gap year organisations can record the skills an individual obtains during their experience in the Europass Mobility document. This document records any skills or competencies that the individuals acquire whilst undertaking an organised activity abroad.
By using such a document to help individuals such organisations will be clearly able to demonstrate how they can help individuals obtain work and / or places on educational courses.
Voluntary and gap year organisations can also use the other Europass documents to help them understand the skills and competencies an individual possesses when they apply to taking part in an activity. The documents will help highlight the individuals that are most likely to succeed in a given situation.
The UK National Europass Centre (UK NEC) has been established to help promote Europass to individuals and organisations. If you need any further help in understanding or implementing Europass we are here to help, please feel free to contact us.
