Finding the right individual for a job is a time consuming and difficult task. When considering employment in Europe, the task can seem even harder.

Europass has been designed to make life easier for those involved with recruiting individual. Europass is a set of tools that an individual can use to promote themselves as effectively as possible. In January 2005 the European Commission launched this single, transparent framework to help employers and education establishments understand the skills and competencies of individuals within the European Union.

It consists of five documents:

These tools can help you identify the best individuals for posts within your organisation as they have been designed to help promote and demonstrate the skills and competencies the individual has developed through their academic and professional career.

  • It helps the understanding of qualifications, competencies and skills across borders
  • It provides information in a standardised format, which makes it easier to compare applicants
  • It presents information in a clear and transparent manner, making it easier to understand what an individual can offer
  • It enables individuals to be able to make the most of opportunities on a European level
